We are looking to recruit full and part-time Driver-Guides to conduct our tours from both Glasgow and Edinburgh. We also have a position available for a part time coach valet.

About Us

We are a family-owned business and have been operating 1–6-day tours throughout Scotland and the Highlands and Islands since 2008.

Our tours take in the very best of what Scotland has to offer, but it’s our driver-guides who enhance our visitors experience by providing a fun and informative insight into Scotland’s rich history, ancient culture, and breath-taking natural landscapes

Driver-Guides

Becoming a driver-guide for Discover Scotland Tours is about much more than being able to drive our modern fleet of Mercedes 16 seat mini coaches. You will lead, guide, and drive small groups of visitors around Scotland, helping to create lifelong memories for people that come to visit from all over the world.

To become a Driver-Guide you must have the following:

  • You must hold a category D or D1 PCV licence and Driver Qualification Card.
  • Experience of driving PCV vehicles.
  • Be outgoing, confident and have a passion for Scotland with a welcoming personality.
  • Be able to demonstrate exceptional customer service.
  • The ability to communicate your knowledge and entertain people from all over the world.
  • To work well individually and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability.

Salary & Benefits 

  • £28k – 33k per annum

Our Recruitment Process

  • Your application will be reviewed, and we’ll contact you to arrange an initial telephone interview.
  • You will be invited to shadow one of our experienced Driver-Guides where you’ll gain an insight into what the job is all about.
  • One to one interview
  • Successful candidates will receive an offer of employment and training is provided by our own driver-guides, the best bar none. They will assist you, enabling you to guide tours within a matter of weeks.

Valeter

We require Coach Valeters/Yard Operatives to join the team based at both Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports. The role requires the exterior and interior cleaning of executive mini-coaches to a high standard, and some basic yard duties.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Exterior Cleaning of coaches
  • Sweeping & Mopping Floors
  • Cleaning Windows
  • Cleaning Seats
  • Topping up fluid levels in coaches if required
  • Regular deep cleaning of coaches
  • Tidying of the yard
  • Some basic maintenance, changing bulbs etc.

Shift Pattern & Hours

  • 3-5 shifts over 7 days
  • 18:30 – 22:30

(However, flexibility is required for any coaches which may be late back to base. Throughout the busier summer months overtime may be available.)

Job Types

  • Part-time (up to 20 hrs per week)
  • Seasonal and permanent positions available
