The Glenfinnan Viaduct is a critical link on the West Highland Railway line. It overlooks the beautiful waters of Loch Shiel. The ultra popular Game of Thrones series has taken America by storm and if you’re lucky enough to have one of the online TV services, you’ve probably seen it too. Above all, great series’ need authentic locations and the experts at HBO decided Doune Castle was the perfect spot. Visit Doune Castle on our Stirling Castle & Loch Lomond National Park Tour. Not forgetting the audio description as you tour the castle; it features narration by Terry Jones of Monty Python fame.
Where else would James Bond live? Of course he lives in the secluded Skyfall Lodge in the most dramatic Glen in the United Kingdom – Glencoe. However, the location is no accident. Ian Fleming (author of many of the Bond novels) had a family home in Glen Etive; right next to it’s more famous neighbour. See why 007 chose Glencoe as a place to get away from it all on our Loch Ness, Haunting Glencoe & The Highland’s tour.
Granted World War Z wasn’t the global success it’s producers dreamt it might be but let’s not blame the location.. They picked roads around George Square, start point for all our Glasgow based tours, as the perfect twin for Philadelphia – the unfortunate location for a post apocalyptic zombie-fest.
