Our adventure departs your city of choice, then we travel to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, ready to start our adventure at Go Ape. Here you’ll be in the thick of nature, climbing, swinging and zip-wiring high in the trees. Taking in views that only thrill seekers get to enjoy. The Treetop Challenge offers easy and extreme sections. However brave you’re feeling that day, you’ll start with a thrilling 300 metre zip wire. Ending with a heart-in-your-mouth 400 metre zip wire that’s one of the UK’s longest. From the safety of your harness you’ll be flying over lush forest and waterfalls. All with the spectacular background of the Trossachs’ hills, valleys, rivers and glens.
Finally back on solid ground, we’ll enjoy some lunch here. We’ll then carrying on our road trip adventure to the Scottish Highlands through Tyndrum and historic Bridge of Orchy. After the lush, rolling slopes of the Trossachs, Rannoch Moor can be bleak and desolate. However, it’s also very beautiful with its blanket bog, rocky outcrops, flora and fauna. Look out for curlews, grouse and red deer.
The moor soon gives way to the towering mountains of Glencoe as we travel to Glen Etive. Here, your knowledgeable driver-guide will point out where in the epic film Skyfall, legendary characters James Bond and M stood. You can recreate the scene with your own camera. Back in Glencoe we’ll pull over for a chance to photograph this eerie but beautiful glen. After that, we’ll head to our overnight destination of Fort Augustus; a tourist town full of character that sits at the southern tip of Loch Ness. This is the Great Glen. A natural fault line that cuts Scotland diagonally from Fort William in the west to Inverness in the east. It’s now a popular trail for hikers and bikers. It’s also the setting of the Caledonian Canal, one of the world’s greatest waterways. There’s much entertainment to be had watching the boats navigate the village’s locks.
On day two of our adventure tour of Scotland, prepare to be truly awoken with a thrilling 90-minute RIB ride on Loch Ness. This power boat ride will have you on the edge of your seat, with the wind ripping through your hair. It’s an exciting way to explore some of the loch. Who knows, you might even catch a glimpse of the Loch Ness Monster, whom we affectionately call Nessie. As we say cheerio to Nessie, we continue our adventure travelling south east. Through sweeping green hills to the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. There’s certainly some outstanding wildlife to be seen. If you keep your eyes peeled you might catch a Golden Eagle Osprey. Alternatively, you may even see the Monarch of the Glen himself, the red deer stag.
Our destination is the wooded river gorge at Killiecrankie. Where our final and most extreme thrill of this Scottish adventure tour awaits – a bungee jump (for ages 14 and over). Should you wish to accept this mission, you’ll leap from a platform just below the Garry Bridge. Hurtle 40 metres down towards water before the springy bungee cord halts your descent. Then, you’re winched back to the platform. It’s the ultimate adrenaline rush at Scotland’s first bungee destination. The experts at Highland Fling Bungee will ensure you have a safe and unforgettable experience. If a bungee jump is a stretch too far, why not try the Highland Fling bridge swing instead. Again, 40 metres above the River Garry, in full body harness, you’ll freefall around 15 metres. The rope then takes the slack and you accelerate through an arc underneath the bungee platform. Soon you’re anchored and winched back to where you started. Afterwards, you’ll feel like you’ve conquered the world. You can purchase photos and video to show off your adventure to your friends. With the adrenaline rush over, we’re back on four wheels and head into the charming Highland tourist resort of Pitlochry. Here we’ll have a late afternoon refreshment before dropping you off in Edinburgh or Glasgow.
