Tours to Stirling Castle
Tours Visiting Stirling Castle
Follow in the footsteps of Mary, Queen of Scots, and Bonnie Prince Charlie with a visit to sumptuous Stirling Castle. One of Scotland’s largest and most important fortifications. It’s been carefully refurbished and restored to give visitors a glimpse into the rich and colourful world of Scotland’s Renaissance Kings, Queens, nobles and courtiers.
You can feast your eyes on its magnificent banqueting hall. We also encourage you to discover the intrigue and legends that lie within the walls of its Royal Palace.
Perched on top of a vast volcanic rock, and visible from miles around, Stirling Castle was the key to the kingdom of Scotland. It has witnessed sieges, wars and battles and presides over the famous battle site of Stirling Bridge. Here William Wallace, immortalised in the film ‘Braveheart’, defeated English forces in 1297. 17 years later it was King Robert the Bruce’s turn to banish the English at the battle of Bannockburn. Your friendly driver-guide will point out these important landmarks from your luxury mini coach.
Our one day small group tours from Glasgow and Edinburgh offer plenty of time to appreciate this childhood home of Mary, Queen of Scots. Our shore excursion from Greenock (Glasgow) to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs also takes in this magnificent castle.
For a more bespoke experience you can also join us on a Private Tour. With a personalised itinerary you may opt to spend a full morning or afternoon at the castle. There’s certainly enough to take in if you wish to make it the highlight of your tour.
